Dr. Shreya Vaishnav
PhD • LPCC #22006 • NCC • Associate Professor, Palo Alto University
As a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with years of experience in the mental health field, I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective support to individuals facing a wide range of challenges.
Clinical background
My background in working in various clinical settings — including college counseling centers and hospitals — has provided me with a wealth of experience working with diverse populations, including immigrants, refugees, and international students.
A personal connection
Being a first-generation Indian immigrant myself, I am deeply connected to the unique struggles and experiences of those who have moved to a new country and face cross-cultural and identity-related concerns. I understand the challenges of navigating experiences of discrimination, both in interpersonal relationships and in the workplace, and I am here to provide a safe and supportive space for individuals facing these issues.
Academic work
In addition to my clinical practice, I am a full-time Associate Professor at the PhD and Master's programs for counseling and counseling education at Palo Alto University. In this role, I have the opportunity to train the next generation of culturally responsive and inclusive counselors, furthering my commitment to creating a more equitable and inclusive mental health system.
My approach
With a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach, I work to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can feel heard and understood. Whether you are facing relationship issues, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, or any other concern, I am here to support you on your journey towards healing and recovery.
